Virtual Visits (Telemedicine Appointments)
A faster, easier way to see an allergy specialist. Telemedicine visits are available for established patients, using your smartphone, tablet, or PC, you can have a live and secure visit with a provider without leaving home or taking time off work. — contact our Scheduling Department to see if a virtual visit is appropriate for you.
Important Reminders for Your Virtual Visit
- After scheduling your telemedicine appointment, add the invite to your personal or work calendar for a 15-minute reminder prior to the appointment.
- You must be in the State of Michigan on the day of your visit.
- Connect using reliable Wi-Fi and make sure you are in a private area.
- Your visit will be billed to your insurance carrier. The cost for the visit depends on your plan type and eligibility. You may be responsible for full or partial payment.
- The visit charge will apply if you are not connected within 15 minutes of the appointment start time.
- A full in-person exam is needed to prescribe antibiotics and/or oral steroids. Please call our office at 616-949-4840 to schedule an in-office visit if you feel you may need these medications.
- All patients on immunotherapy with a history of asthma will be asked to have at least one pulmonary function test yearly. An in-person follow-up may be needed to perform this test.
- By logging in at appointment time, you consent and agree to Grand Rapids Allergy’s Notice of Privacy Practices (NOPP) and Terms & Conditions. NOPP and consent forms are available upon request.
